Where are American

tub line is no exception to the reputation of their name!
What is the difference between acrylic and gel-coat
fiberglass tub shells?
Acrylic walk in tubs are
manufactured using a heat and vacuum-form process over a
mold. The acrylic form is then re-enforced with a
fiberglass undercoating for added durabilty and strength.
Acrylic is known for being a non-porous, solid surface which is
effective in keeping mold and bacteria's at bay. With a
high-gloss finish acrylic is long lasting and will not fade or
discolor.
A fiberglass shell is durable and repairable, however it's true
durability is determined by the quality of gel-coat used to seal
the surface of the fiberglass.

Tubs uses a poly-urethane blend in our gel-coat making
our shells more resistant to UV rays and fading.
An acrylic tub's shell will last longer, be more heat
retentive and is easier to repair than a fiberglass tub.
What is Chromatherapy?
Chromatherapy is a therapeutic lighting system installed in the
footwell of your walk in tub. The lights cycle through a variety
of colors including: yellow, red, green, blue and purple. The
relaxing movement of light and water is soothing and calming.
Chromatherapy is relaxing and can be personalized by keeping the
lights stationery on the color of your choice.
What is the difference between water jets and air
jets?
American Standard walk in bathtubs have 13 water jets. The water
jets are directional and can pinpoint specific sore muscles with
a deep, penetrating massage. The water jets can be adjusted to
control the flow of water out of the jet , allowing you to set
the waterflow to your comfort.
American Standard air massage tubs come with 26 injected air
jets. The air jet massage with injected jets creates millions of
swirling warm bubbles in the tub. The air massage has several
settings allowing the bather to control the flow of the air and
the speed of the pump. Air jets are wonderful for improving
circulation in those who need help with their circulatory
system.
How does the American Standard in-line heater work?
American Standard Walk In Tubs offers the option of an
inline leater for whirlpool tubs. An inline heater is designed
to keep your bath water temperature maintainted during the
course of your whirlpool massage. As the water recirculates
thorugh your plumbing of your walk in tub the water will flow
over the inline heater to keep the water temperature warm. An
inline heater does not have a manual setting- the heater will
come on automatically with your whirlpool jets. The inline
heater requires a 20 Amp dedicated circuit.
Does American Standard offer a wall surround kit for my
walk in tub?
Yes! American Standard Walk In Baths has a new
acrylic
wall surround kit which comes complete with the following:
2 side walls (59 3/4 x 30″), 1 back wall (59
3/4x 48), 2 corner caddies each with 2 built
in, easy to reach shelves (59 7/8 x 7″x7″)
and 2 wall extensions to finish off the
front of the tub surround (52″ x 5 3/4 |
